Cone crusher vs jaw crusher
The cone crusher and the jaw crusher both are commonly used in rock crushing works. However, what’s the difference between cone crusher and jaw crusher?
Cone crusher machine has superior performance, mainly suitable for medium and fine crushing operations, so the product particle size is more uniform. The design of cone crushing cavity is various, customers could choose different cavities according to different needs. The jaw crusher equipment is for a variety of hard rock crushing, mainly for coarse and medium crushing. Its cavity is composed with a movable jaw plate and a fixed jaw plate. And it crushes materials mainly through the impact and extrusion of the two jaw plates.
On the whole, the jaw crusher ismainly used for primary crushing, and the rock materials are relatively large; the cone crusher machine is used for crushing medium materials, and is mostly used for secondary crushing. The similarity between cone stone crusher and jaw stone crusher is that they both apply squeezing force to the materials. Compared with the jaw crusher, the working process of the cone crusher is continuous. The force of the material in its cavity is the combined force. Such as the bending force, the shearing force and the friction force. So rock materials are easy to crush. Therefore, the production capacity of stone cone crusher machine is large and the power consumption is low.


Cone crushing working principle
The cone crusher is a compression type of machine that reduces material by squeezing or compressing the feed material. In addition, these spindles are completely covered with a sturdy mantle and a concave cover the hopper. When the rocks drop into the crushing chamber where between the fixed tooth plate and the moving plate, the rocks squeez and crush. The broken rock pieces fall into the next position where they break again. Then, the same process repeats until the broken pieces become small enough. At last, broken rocks can pass through the discharge opening in the bottom of the cone crusher.



The cone crusher machine has a hydraulic system to adjust the size of the discharge of the crusher. The hydraulic system can effectively ensure the safe operation of the equipment. When there is a foreign body in the crushing chamber, the hydraulic system can make the moving cone automatically back down. When the foreign body drops out, the system makes the moving cone automatically reset.
